Welcome to BLM's ePlanning site for the Direct Sale of Public Lands in La Paz County, commonly discussed as “Section 16." A Notice of Realty Action (NORA) has published in the Federal Register on 3/31/2026, which has initiated a 45-day public comment period. A copy of the NORA is posted on the “Documents” menu, along with a map of the area under consideration. The NORA contains the email and postal mail addresses where comments can be sent for BLM's review and consideration.
BLM plans to publish a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for public review and comment in April, 2026. Once posted, instructions on commenting will be provided here on this webpage. Please check back.
Section 16 is identified as suitable for disposal in the Bradshaw-Harquahala Resource Management Plan, as amended by Renewable Arizona: Restoration Design Energy Project Resource Management Plan Amendment. The parcel is isolated within a large contiguous block of Arizona State Trust Land under commercial lease to 174 Power Global, LLC. Information regarding the lease on these lands, known as “Atlas North,” may be available at Arizona State Land Department (external website).
