Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lakeview Field Office proposes to authorize geological fieldwork involving the collection of small carbonate rock samples and water samples within the Lake Abert and Summer Lake basins of south‑central Oregon. The purpose of the project is to evaluate how lake chemistry and climate conditions are recorded in carbonate minerals of varying ages and types, with applications for interpreting ancient lake systems and reconstructing past environments.
