Project Description

AngloGold Ashanti North America (AGA) is proposing the Arthur Gold Consolidated Exploration Project (Project) located in Nye County, Nevada. Following a series of corporate acquisitions, AGA now operates multiple exploration Projects within the Beatty Mining District. To enhance operational efficiency and simplify administrative reporting, AGA proposes consolidating three Exploration Plan of Operations (EPOs) and a Notice-level project, and their associated Nevada Reclamation Permits (NRPs), into a single exploration Project:
•	Silicon Exploration Project (NVN-097820/ NVNV106235676/NRP No. 0404)
•	Crown Exploration Project (N-097641/NVNV106236158/NRP No. 0402)
•	Mother Lode Exploration Project (NVN-096238/NVNV106051480/NRP No. 0392)
•	Lynnda Strip Project NOI (NVN-099698)
The proposed Project would encompass the existing EPOs and Notice of Intent for Exploration Activities (NOI), expand the exploration boundary, and carry forward the existing and total approved surface disturbance acreage from the current projects. No additional surface disturbance acreage would be added beyond the 543.93 acres that have been previously acknowledged/approved for the existing projects. The consolidated and expanded Project boundary would encompass approximately 51,333 acres of public land administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The activities of the proposed Project are the same as those of the previously approved Crown, Motherlode, and Silicon EPOs.

6/1/2026 ~ The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Tonopah Field Office, has initiated an Environmental Assessment (EA) of the AngloGold Ashanti North America Consolidated Exploration Plan of Operations. The project was initially proposed as a Determination of NEPA Adequacy (DNA) (DOI-BLM-NV-B020-2026-0023-DNA) on March 25, 2026. On April 28, 2026 the BLM determined that the DNA review was not the appropriate level of NEPA and canceled that review. However, in accordance with 43 CFR § 3809.411(c), the BLM made the Plan of Operations available for a 30-day public review and comment period from March 25, 2026, through April 24, 2026, as part of the posted ePlanning page (use the link below to access this page).
