February 2016 Competitive Oil and Gas Lease Sale
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Council on Environmental Quality regulations for implementing NEPA, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Canyon Country District is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) which analyzes potential environmental consequences of a proposed competitive oil and gas lease sale scheduled for February 16, 2016. The lands are being considered for leasing in response to an Expression of Interest received by the BLM. The proposed action consists of leasing up to 13 parcels, totaling approximately 11,007 acres.
The 30-day Protest Period begins on November 13, 2015 and will end on December 14, 2015.
On or before September 18, 2015, the BLM, Canyon Country District will post the draft EA on this website for a 30-day public review and comment period. The comment period ended on October 19, 2015.
The 30-day public scoping period for the proposed action ended on June 27, 2015.
