What's New

6/24/2026 - The BLM has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) and Appendices, and draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for public lands nominated for geothermal lease to be offered at the 2026 Geothermal Competitive Lease Sale scheduled for October 2026. The EA, Appendices, and FONSI can be found at the "Documents" and "Maps" links at top of this page. 

The public comment period is June 24 to July 24, 2026. Public comments can be submitted using the "Participate Now" link at left. Comments may also be submitted by mail to: BLM, Attn. Holly Doherty, 5100 E. Winnemucca Blvd., NV, 89445, or by email to [email protected], with the subject line: 2026 Winnemucca District Geothermal Lease Sale.
