Project Description

This is a new Right-of-Way (ROW) application for installing a fiber optic cable (communication line) on approximately 0.05 acres of BLM Land within Interstate Highway 50. This project proposes to place an underground communication line within the existing Highway 50 ROW using a horizontal directional drilling and trenching where needed. The proposed construction disturbed footprint ROW area is 153 ft long X 15 ft wide X 4 ft deep. 
This Middle-Mile Broadband Network (MMBN) project would install the broadband infrastructure along the State Highway System (SHS) and Interstate System necessary to connect to a third-party operated Last Mile Broadband Network which will bring internet connectivity to homes, businesses, and community institutions especially unserved and underserved communities.
Preliminary determination of no adverse effect to historic properties.
