Project Description

On November 21, 2025, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Richfield Field Office (RFO) received Standard Form 299 - Application to build a communications site on Federal Lands, from Utah Communications Authority (UCA) located in Wayne County, Utah.
The application requests permission to build a new microwave signal reflector to connect with UCA’s public safety network from existing Copper Ridge radio facility to the existing South Creek radio facility. The signal reflector would act as a passive device; meaning solar, batteries, or facilities are not required. The signal reflector features a 4” X 7’ tall, galvanized pipe supporting a 4’ X 4” aluminum reflector or 2, 2.5-foot antennas. The galvanized pipe will be secured in concrete 3’ deep X 24” deep. Microwave/ Repeater dish covers, or reflector itself will be required to conform to natural resources color palate, likely a grey color. BLM 14501, leading from Henry Mountain Road/ BLM 14500 would also be a part of the right-of-way to facilitate access to the communications site.
