Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is initiating the revocation of a land withdrawal for approximately 2.97 acres of public land located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The parcel was previously withdrawn for use by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and is no longer required for federal purposes. Upon revocation, the land will return to BLM administration and be managed in accordance with applicable land use plans and policies.

To comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), BLM intends to apply a Categorical Exclusion (CE) in accordance with 516 DM 1, Appendix 2, Section 11.9, E(3), which categorically excludes in relevant part "withdrawal revocations, terminations, extensions, or modifications; classification terminations or modifications; or opening actions where the land would be opened only to discretionary land laws and where subsequent discretionary actions (prior to implementation) are in conformance with and are covered by a Resource Management Plan/EIS (or plan amendment and EA or EIS).
