The Delta Wild and Scenic River Watershed originates south of the Denali Highway and includes all of the Upper and Lower Tangle Lakes, the Tangle River, and the Delta River. The Delta River drains north through the Alaska Range, eventually joining the Tanana River and emptying into the Yukon River.

Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management proposes to conduct a gather to remove excess wild horses from within and outside the Clan Alpine Herd Management Area in order to reduce the current population to the low Appropriate Management Level of 612 horses. This action was analyzed in the Clan Alpine Horse Gather EA DOI-BLM-NV-C010-2023-0004-EA. The Stillwater Field Office will implement the gather, with assistance from contractors, a licensed veterinarian, and other authorized personnel.
