What's New
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposes to sell underlying interests in 7 previously authorized oil and gas leasespursuant to Section 27 of the Mineral Leasing Act (30 U.S.C. § 184(h)(2)). This lease interest represents either a partial undivided record title interest, operting rights, or an overriding royalty interest that was previously forfeited or canceled and has reverted to the federal government. The action would amend the lease to reflect the new interest holder. The sale would not alter lease stipulations, authorize new operations, or involve any surface disturbance. No environmental impact results directly from transfer of interest. This is an administrative action only. If the lease interest is not sold during the competitive auction, it may be issued noncompetitively to the first qualified applicant who pays the lease application fee.
