Project Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lakeview District, Klamath Fall Field Office is proposing to authorize the issuance and renewal of Special Recreation Permits (SRPs) for commercial waterfowl hunting and guiding activities on 201 acres of BLM-administered lands in the Alkali Lake area. This proposed action would apply to all SRP applicants seeking to operate during Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) regulated waterfowl hunting seasons. The purpose of this action is to provide a quality recreational opportunity on public land that serves visitors lacking the skill or equipment necessary to otherwise participate. The Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA) directs the BLM to regulate through permits, including commercial recreation use, under section 302 (b).
