A DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT IS IN PROGRESS
AND IS PROJECTED FOR POSTING IN EARLY 2026
The Southern California Edison California (SCE) City Project would be located on federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Department of Defense (DoD - United States Air Force); state lands managed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and highway and freeway crossings managed by California Department of Transportation (Caltrans); county/city lands managed by Kern County, San Bernardino County, and the City of California City; private lands; and lands owned and managed by SCE.
The BLM is preparing an environmental compliant document to analyze the effects upon the human environment and the natural resources along the proposed action.
Consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service under Section 7 and Section 106 with State Historic Preservation Office and Native American Tribes are in progress.
Additionally, the BLM is coordinating with the California Public Utility Commission on this SCE project.
