Project Description

The District is proposing to update its existing integrated invasive  plant management (IIPM) program which will include emergency stabilization and rehabilitation (ES&R) treatments on these BLM-administered lands in the Wenatchee and Border Field Offices. These field offices on the Spokane District currently controls noxious weeds and invasive plants in accordance with BLM policy and direction, the Wenatchee and Border Field Offices -wide 2018 Spokane District Programmatic Noxious Weed & Invasive Plant Management Environmental Assessment (Spokane IIPM EA) (USDI 2018), the Wenatchee  Field Office 2021 Programmatic EmergencyUKTUR Stabilization and Rehabilitation Plan EA (ES&R EA) (USDI 2021), and their associated Decision Records. A range of methods, including manual and mechanical methods (e.g., hand pulling, plowing, and mowing), prescribed fire, biological controls (e.g., insects or grazing), and many of the following herbicides (2,4-D, aminopyralid, bromacil, chlorsulfuron, clopyralid, dicamba, diflufenzopyr, diquat, diuron, fluridone, fluroxypyr, glyphosate, hexazinone, imazapic, imazapyr, metsulfuron methyl, picloram, rimsulfuron, sulfometuron methyl, tebuthiuron, and triclopyr) are used.

What's New

The Spokane District of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is preparing an Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate and update the District’s Integrated Invasive Plant Management (IIPM) program. The BLM is initiating public scoping to gather input on issues, concerns, and potential alternatives to be considered in this analysis.
