Project Description

Tight Line Fly Fishing guide, Lyle Burlingame, has applied for a Special Recreation Use Permit to teach and guide clients on fly-fishing day trips along the Wild and Scenic Merced River in Mariposa County from the upper inflow of McClure Reservoir to the USFS boundary approximately 4 miles upstream from Briceburg, CA. Clients would travel in their own personal vehicles to park and meet guide(s) at developed BLM recreation areas such as Briceburg Day Use Area, Cable Rock, Merced River Trailhead, etc., or along established public roads such as the Briceburg Campground Road, or Highway 140. All parked cars would be off the pavement of highways, and/or out of the travel way along the Briceburg Campground Road. Tight Line Fly Fishing would not provide transportation.

Exempt activity as defined in the 2019 State Protocol.
