January 7, 2025 - The Bureau of Land Management today issued its Record of Decision and Approved Resource Management Plan for the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. This approved plan will guide management of the monument's 113,500 acres in southwestern Oregon and northern California to protect and restore the resources, objects, and values for which the area was designated. Presidential Proclamations 7318 and 9564 identified the monument as a landscape of ecological wonder with unmatched biological diversity that provides habitat connectivity, watershed protection, and landscape-scale resilience for the area's critically important natural resources.
December 13, 2024 - The BLM prepared a Biological Assessment (BA) for the CSNM Proposed RMP pursuant to Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act. The BA has been posted in the Documents tab under Background / Supporting Documents. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has issued a Biological Opinion on the CSNM Proposed RMP. Please reach out to the FWS Roseburg Field Office (541-957-3474) for a copy of their Biological Opinion.

The Federal Register notice announces the opening of a 30-day protest period and the Governor's Consistency Review. All protests must be in writing and filed with the BLM Director, either electronically via BLM’s ePlanning website or as a hard copy by the close of the protest period. The only electronic protests the BLM will accept are those filed through ePlanning. Additional instructions for filing a protest are available at the BLM's Filing a Plan Protest website.

April 5, 2024 - The Notice of Availability of the Draft Resource Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement for the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument in Oregon/Washington and California published in the Federal Register. You can also find it in Documents.
The Federal Register notice announces the opening of a 90-day public comment period for the Draft RMP/EIS beginning with the date following the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) publication of its Notice of Availability (NOA) of the Draft RMP/EIS in the FederalRegister. The EPA usually publishes its NOAs on Fridays.
The BLM is seeking input on the Draft RMP/EIS which will revise the management plan for the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument and is designed to encompass all lands in the Monument under one plan to provide cohesive, long-range objectives and management direction. Comments must be received by July 5, 2024.
The BLM will host four public meetings to provide forums for the public to learn more about the Draft RMP/EIS and provide comments. Please refer to How to Get Involved for more information on public meetings and how to be involved in the planning process.

August 15, 2023 - The public scoping period closed on August 8, 2023. The BLM is reviewing the comments provided and preparing a Public Scoping Report, which will be made available here on this site in the fall 2023.
June 27, 2023 - The Analysis of the Management Situation (AMS) is now available. The AMS provides a brief description of the resource conditions within the planning area and how these resources are currently being managed. The AMS also includes the BLM's preliminary planning criteria, or the preliminary issues and their analytical frameworks, and is being made available for public review and comments per 43 CFR 1610.1-2(c)).

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public input
to inform the new resource management plan (RMP) for the Cascade-Siskiyou
National Monument (CSNM). The RMP is
being developed to encompass all lands in the CSNM under one plan to provide
cohesive, long-range management objectives and direction.
The BLM invites members of the public to attend public
meetings to learn more about the project, speak with resource specialists, and
to submit written comments. The BLM will hold four public meetings, three in-person open
houses and one virtual, to gather input on resource management concerns, which
can help determine the scope of the environmental analysis. Please refer to How
