Additional Treatment Areas: Determinations of NEPA Adequacy 

• The BLM has prepared the 2026 Annual Treatment Plan: Previously Unmapped Infestation DNA (DOI-BLM-ORWA-N000-2026-0004-DNA) to add previously unmapped infestations to the 2026 treatment plan (04/21/2026).

• The BLM has prepared the Chalamali Prairie Oak and Pine Restoration DNA (DOI-BLM-ORWA-N030-2025-0012-DNA) to add the Chalamali Prairie as a treatment site in the 2025 treatment plan (06/12/2025).

• The BLM has prepared the 2025 Annual Treatment Plan: Previously Unmapped Infestation DNA ( DOI-BLM-ORWA-N000-2025-0001-DNA) to add previously unmapped infestations to the 2025 treatment plan (05/28/2025).

• The BLM has prepared the Carnine Uplands Prairie Restoration DNA (DOI-BLM-ORWA-N050-2024-0009-DNA) to add the Carnine Uplands Prairie as a treatment site in the 2024 treatment plan (09/20/2024).

FONSI and Decision Record Issued 

The District issued a FONSI and decision record adopting Alternative B with all applicable Project Design Features listed in Appendix 2 of the EA on July 18th 2024.

Unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) Public Review

The District provided a 30-day public comment period and requested comments on the Unsigned Finding of No Significant Impact. The BLM emailed a public scoping notice to the interested publics list, including 142 individuals, businesses, and agencies, on March 13, 2024. This Finding of No Significant Impact was also available on the BLM National NEPA Register (ePlanning). The District received three comments during the comment period. This comments expressed support of the project and EA but were not substantive in nature.

Draft EA Public Review

The District provided a 30-day public comment period and requested comments on the proposed action in the draft EA. The BLM emailed a public review notice to the interested publics list, including 142 individuals, businesses, and agencies, on September 20, 2023. This draft EA was also available on the BLM National NEPA Register (ePlanning). The District did not receive any comments during the comment period.

Public Scoping
 

The District provided two 30-day public scoping periods and requested comments on the proposed action. The BLM emailed a public scoping notice to the interested publics list, including 142 individuals, businesses, and agencies, on May 16, 2022. The District provided an additional public scoping opportunity on August 9, 2022. These public scoping notices were also available on the BLM National NEPA Register (ePlanning). The District did not receive any comments during public scoping.
