Project Description

Bureau of Land Management (BLM) plans to install a new gate to prevent vehicular traffic from using an abandoned mining road. This area of public land has experienced issues with unauthorized dumping. The installation of a gate would restrict vehicle access, thereby reducing the likelihood of illegal dumping activities within the parcel. Pedestrian traffic would still be able to enter the parcel for recreation and mining activities. The gate would be installed by digging two 60-inch-deep holes, setting metal posts in place, and securing them with concrete. The post holes would be excavated using a stand-on tracked loader or compact tracked loader with an auger attachment.

Exempt activity as defined in the 2019 State Protocol.
