Protests
According to IM 2018-034, protest periods shall last 10 days from the publication of the sale notice. The sale notice for the December 12, 2019 was posted October 28, 2019, therefore the protest period for this sale ends November 7, 2019. Protests should be as specific as possible. Those which contain only opinions or preferences will not receive a formal response, but may be considered in the BLM decision-making process. Protests may be filed either by mail in hard-copy form or by telefax. Hard-copies can be mailed to the BLM-Eastern States office at 20 M Street, Suite 950, Washington, D.C. 20003, or telefaxed to the attention of State Director at (202) 912-7798. Protests must be postmarked or faxed within 10 calendar days of the posting of this Notice. The BLM will dismiss a late-filed protest, an improperly filed protest, or an otherwise properly filed protest, which the protester requested to be held at a mailing facility. For information on how to file a timely protest, please refer to the oil and gas lease sale notice. The BLM will not accept protests submitted by email, compact disk (CD), thumb drive, or other electronic media. The BLM will also not accept protests submitted in person or by any means other than US mail or telefax.
Before including an address, phone number, email address, or other personal information in any comments, please be aware that the entire comment—including personal identifying information—may be made publicly available at any time. Requests to withhold personal identifying information from public review can be submitted, but the BLM cannot guarantee that it will be able to do so.
