The Bureau of Land Management’s Coos Bay District, Myrtlewood Field Office, has issued a Decision Record for the Horsepower CT, Burnt Tioga CT, Lost and Forgotten CT, and Hairy Scary Timber Sales, documented under Determination of NEPA Adequacy DOI‑BLM‑ORWA‑C040‑2026‑0003‑DNA.
The decision authorizes implementation of Alternative 2 from the Late‑Successional and Riparian Reserve Restoration Management Environmental Assessment, including variable‑density commercial thinning and associated road work across approximately 1,687 acres in Coos County, Oregon, within Late‑Successional Reserve, Riparian Reserve, and District‑Designated Reserve-Roads allocations.
These actions are intended to accelerate development of late‑successional forest characteristics, improve habitat complexity, and enhance riparian function, consistent with all Project Design Features, Best Management Practices, and mitigation measures identified in the EA and DNA.
A person adversely affected by this decision may appeal to the Interior Board of Land Appeals under 43 CFR Part 4. A Notice of Appeal must be filed within 30 days of the date the public is notified of this decision.
